Lymington, showers. Rev. WilUam Barnes comes to me by invitation. I go up from the Custom-House and find him sitting by my fire in Prospect Place. We dine at 6.30 : to the Literary Institution, where B. lectures on House and House-Life — caves, huts, tents, etc.. Wives (laughter), Praise of the good wife, — Odd lecture, rather puzzled everybody. Had Dr. Adams and Doman to meet Barnes at supper.
