A very kind letter from Charles Kingsley, quite unsought for, offering me introductions to ' Sam St. Barbe,' (the banker here) and Captain Mildmay. Next day a letter from Rossetti, complain- ing of being ' restless,' and asking if he shall come and pay me a visit. I reply ' Yes,' but he finds it mighty hard to make the start, and puts off time after time, coming at last.
