Came the sad and unexpected news of the death of Lady Cotton, wife to my brother George, a most excellent lady.

Went with my brother Richard to Wotton, to visit and comfort my disconsolate brother; and on the 13th saw my friend, Mr. Charles Howard, at Dipden, near Dorking.
